Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. ~ Lao Tzu

What would life be like without people to love and to love us back? I’m extremely blessed in that I have never gone a moment in my life without knowing that someone loves me. It’s experiencing a constant and unconditional love like this that fuels my response of loving them back in the same way.

What we often don’t realize is that though human love is powerful and transformative, it is imperfect; there is only one person in existence who can love perfectly, and that person is not human. If strength and courage come from mutual love between two people, how much more from the love between a person and their Creator?

“We love him, because he first loved us.” ~ 1 John 4:19

Our entire being and purpose for existence revolve around that deep, powerful love of God being poured out on us. It gives us strength to keep on going when things feel hopeless or too difficult; it sustains our confidence in who we are and in what we are striving for. And the love that flows out of us toward God in response to His irresistible love toward us is the source of our courage to do what is right or hard or necessary, no matter the circumstance.

If you’ve never personally experienced God’s love, know that He is right there with you, arms open to you. Don’t hesitate to reach out to Him–He will never disappoint you!
