About the Writer

My first visit to the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Elizabeth, Maine. October 2017

Hey, I’m Heather, a twenty-something year old writer and photographer. I’m an introvert (INTP personality type), musician, and studier of human nature, a.k.a. people watcher, and I was born and raised in Northern California. I still live here and love my home state, but I’ve also got the travel bug pretty badly, so I’m constantly looking for new places to visit and explore here in the US and across the big ponds.

I love books, antique shops, dark chocolate, history, science fiction and fantasy, candles, libraries, psychology, period dramas, animals, and solitude. I’m sort of a nerd, and you can always count on me to have something to say about Doctor Who or incorrect grammar. I’m fascinated by space travel, astrophysics, and neuroscience, although I don’t claim to understand them fully by any means. But I think in an alternate life I would have been an astrophysicist. On any given day you might find me reading a book or three, playing piano or harp, taking a country walk with my camera and dog, researching my genealogical roots, avoiding excessive social interaction, or working on one of my fictional works in progress.

I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Thomas Edison State University in New Jersey, and I currently work as a library aide.

However, the most important thing about me is that I am a follower of Jesus, and I want everything I say on this blog to reflect that purpose and bring his message of love, grace, acceptance, and transformation to everyone I encounter.

I started this blog because I wanted my own little place on the internet where I could become a better writer and thinker by writing out and sharing my personal perspective on life. I love writing and the idea of blogging because I’m so much better at making my thoughts clear through pen and paper than through speaking or any other medium. But I also want to do more than write just to write. I want it to have an impact on the readers, too.

I would love for my blog to be a place where I can share my personal and unique perspective on life with the results of cultivating my own heart and mind, both mentally and spiritually, while also inspiring and stimulating my readers to reach higher in all areas of their lives and to take hold of their divinely-appointed purpose.20161106_141747

So yes, I write to better understand myself and my thought processes, but I also write because I want you to understand and be inspired by where God has been taking me in my daily journeys.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I’d welcome your comments and feedback anytime! Please feel free to subscribe to my blog by email so you don’t miss any posts.

  5. Hi Heather, hello from a fellow blogging 101 participant. Nice pics on your web site 🙂 One of your pics would make a nice feature image for your blog’s “icon”
